Tattoo Removal

An overwhelming number of us have tattoos but increasingly many of us are regretting what was once a permanent feature for us. Whether you experience a change of direction or you are simply not that fond of the design you once loved, unwanted tattoos can cause untold misery and worry.

Today, thanks to huge advances in laser and light technologies regrettable tattoos no longer need to be a worry. Tattoos – even full colour ones – can be removed effectively and safely and leave you relieved and back to yourself physically and psychologically.

There are many laser solutions on the market – not all offer the same standard of removal or safety so be careful! If a clinic is offering too good to be true pricing or promising removal in a single treatment be very wary!

FAQs

What is tattoo removal?
Helios III targets the ink particles within the tattoo to destroy the ink. This is then absorbed within the body through the elimination process to fade & eventually remove the tattoo.

Can it treat all inks?
Although we can treat most inks with the Helios III we cannot treat green, teal & light blue inks.

How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on the size, depth of colour & how your tattoo responds to treatment. Upon consultation our Practitioners can provide an estimated number of treatments. Multiple treatments will be required but the number depends on individual factors specific to type of ink, skin tone, size and age of tattoo. Treatments are usually recommended at least four weeks apart.

Does the treatment hurt?
There is some discomfort felt during the treatment, however we use cool air to minimise discomfort.

Will I need a patch test?
Yes, we always patch test a small area of the tattoo 48 hours prior to treatment, this allows us to see how the tattoo responds to the settings we use to treat the tattoo safely yet effectively.

Can I have tattoo removal prior to a cover up?
Absolutely! Laser Tattoo Removal is a great option to semi- remove an existing tattoo in preparation for it to be covered over. We can work with your tattoo artist to understand what level of removal will be required for them to cover & give an estimated number of treatments to achieve that.

Are there significant after-effects after treatment?
Redness and swelling may occur, similar to sunburn. This settles within a few days. Some patients may blister, which is quite normal and does not indicate potential scarring. Blistering does not require treatment and will usually clear within days. The treated area should not be exposed to strong sunlight between sessions without the use of sunblock (SPF 30).

THE PROCESS

After only one treatment you can see the ink is visibly reduced. Multiple treatments are required to remove a tattoo.
